Career boosts at Main Electrical

A management reshuffle at electrical contractors Main Electrical has sparked promotion for two of its bosses.

Halfway-based Main Electrical Ltd began as a one-man operation in 1971. Plumber and electrician Ted Willers launched the business from a ground floor flat in Mosborough.

It now has a £3million turnover, employs 36 and works country-wide.

Based on Station Road at Halfway, clients include Severn Trent Water Authority, British Gas, Keepmoat PLC, Kier Group, Costain PLC, North Midland Construction, the Mears Group and mortuary and funeral suppliers LEEC.

Founder Ted has stepped back to take on the role of company chairman, with his finance manager daughter Nikki Thorneloe rising to financial director at only 31. Director Pete Watson steps up to the role of managing director. He commented: “I’m honoured Ted felt he could pass to me the running of the company he built from scratch.”

Former City School pupil Nikki, who is AAT-qualified and a mother of one, said: “I’m proud and privileged to be at the helm of my father’s company.”

Main Electrical recently took on six recruits, boosting its workforce by 20 percent, after winning a £6m contract to fit LED lighting at Severn Trent Water Authority.
